We are looking for a Software Developer!

About the role

Our client is seeking for a software developer to join their dynamic team! You will work in an agile environment that values teamwork. The small, collaborative team includes developers, testers, a test coordinator, and product owners. 

In this role, you will work with different teams to create engaging VR experiences and you will ensure that VR applications perform well and are compatible across various platforms. Staying updated on the latest VR trends and technologies will be important, as well as providing support to your teammates when needed.

This is a consulting assignment starting on October 31, 2024, where you will be employed by The Place. The assignment will run until April 30, 2025, with the possibility of extension. This is a full-time position (40 h / per week) based in Göteborg – working onsite is preferred, but it is not a requirement.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design, implement, and optimize VR interactions, environments, and visual effects to enhance user experience
• Translate design concepts and requirements into interactive virtual reality applications
• Conducting testing and debugging to identify and fix issues
• Document and maintain project code, workflows, and technical specifications for clarity and continuity
   

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Unity development
• Proficiency in C# programming language
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of 3D modeling and animation tools (e.g., Blender, Maya)
• Understanding of multiplayer and networking concepts in VR
• Strong understanding of VR principles, techniques, and best practices
• Solid understanding of game development concepts, including physics, animation, and rendering
• Knowledge of optimization techniques to ensure smooth performance in VR environments

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving and debugging skills. You have excellent communication and collaboration abilities, as well as the ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
